Pittsburgh Tech Ministries is a Project of Oakland Service Ministries, a Christian 501(3)(c) non-profit based in Pittsburgh, PA. We seek to empower God's people to use their gifts by providing low cost, easy to use technology and training to churches and non-profit organizations. We provide tools and training to enhance communication, organization and community building so that our clients can use their resources more effectively and better fulfill their own missions. We try to reach the smaller churches and organizations who often have the biggest impacts on their communities while also having the fewest resources.
Our History
Pittsburgh Tech Ministries was founded by Elizabeth Delgado and started out as The Church Gazette in 2007. It quickly became apparent that The Church Gazette could not charge rock-bottom prices and succeed as a business. Since The Church Gazette was never about money, but always about serving God, it was logical to seek status as a non-profit. We started by offering websites based on a proprietary CMS (Content Management System).
Our Future
In 2010, we decided to move our system to the award winning open source CMS, Drupal®. Drupal has thousands of developers world-wide who support the core code and contribute modules and themes. We are looking forward to being active members of the open source community and giving back as well. We have been hard at work setting up a base site with the features most churches and non-profits want. We are also working on some custom modules designed just for churches and non-profits and have customized some themes just for our clientele. We will continue to add to these resources. In addition to the CMS, we will be offering Tech Tips and Cool Tools Features on our site. We want to be your first resource for all things tech!
